Q & A.
Q/ What is cosmetic teeth whitening?
A/ Cosmetic teeth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without damaging or having to remove any of the tooth surface.
Q/ Why would I need my teeth whitened?
A/ There are a number of reasons why you might have your teeth whitened. Just as skin and hair colour vary from one individual to the next, the colour of our teeth also varies. There are very few people that naturally have brilliant white teeth. Every day use of our teeth and ageing also cause our teeth to discolour.
Q/ What is involved in the cosmetic teeth whitening treatment?
A/ See the Treatment Guide page.
Q/ How much does cosmetic teeth whitening cost?
A/ The Bright White Company offers a one hour cosmetic teeth whitening treatment for £199.
Q/ How long will the results of my cosmetic teeth whitening treatment last?
A/ Dependent on your individual lifestyle and habits, the results will last between 18 and 24 months. If you do not practice good oral hygiene and/or have a regular heavy intake of darkly coloured foods and drinks and/or smoke tobacco regularly, the results will not last as long.
Q/ What are the side effects?
A/ While the majority of clients experience no pain or discomfort, some clients report that their teeth become more sensitive to cold during or shortly after the treatment. Others reported of a ‘tooth ache’ sensation shortly after the treatment. These symptoms usually last no longer than 24-48 hours after the treatment.
Q/ Does The Bright White Company sell ‘at home’ teeth whitening kits?
A/ No, due to the risks associated with ‘at home’ teeth whitening kits
The Bright White Company do not stock or endorse them. These risks include
possible damage to the gums and developing ulcers as a result of in proper,
unsupervised use of the ‘at home’ teeth whitening kits.
Q/ When might cosmetic teeth whitening not work?
A/ Cosmetic teeth whitening can only lighten your existing tooth colour, it will
also only have an effect on natural teeth. It will not ‘whiten’ false teeth, crowns
or veneers, however it will restore them to their original colour.
Q/ How can I maintain my teeth once they have been whitened?
A/ Practicing good oral hygiene is essential to maintaining healthy teeth;
brushing your teeth twice daily, and visiting your dentist ever 6-12 months is
highly recommended. To minimise future staining, avoid darkly coloured foods
and drinks, and if applicable, stop smoking.
