Procedure/Treatment Guide.
Our cosmetic teeth whitening treatments usually take about 60 minutes and produce instant results of up to 10 shades!
The client will be greeted by the therapist and given an explanation of the treatment.
The therapist will talk the client through the consent form and answer any questions the client may have regarding the teeth whitening treatment.
Once the client and therapist are happy to undergo the teeth whitening treatment, they will agree on a ‘before treatment shade’, this will be noted on the consent form.
The client will then be provided with protective goggles and a bib to wear during the teeth whitening treatment. A cheek and tongue retractor will then be placed into the clients’ mouth to allow easy access to the smile line teeth.
A protective barrier will be applied to protect the clients gums, and the first application of whitening gel will be applied to the teeth.
The activation light will then be placed just in front of the client mouth, this starts
the teeth whitening process. The light will be left in place for 10 minutes before the
gel is removed and a fresh application of gel is applied.
This process of applying and removing the gel is repeated for a total of three
applications. This will usually provide a shade lift of 6-10shades, according to the
industry standard Vita Shade Guide.
Once all the applications have been carried out; any residue gel is removed from
the teeth, the proactive gum barrier is removed and disposed of along with the
check and tongue retractor.
The client is given water to rinse their mouth with; the new shade is agreed and
noted on the consent form.
An aftercare sheet is given to the client; this contains helpful tips on maintaining
and developing the achieved level of whiteness.
